NRA BASICS OF PISTOL SHOOTING
INSTRUCTOR LED

FRONT SIGHT FIREARMS TRAININNG LLC proudly offers the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Course. 

 

The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting is intended for all individuals regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA-affiliation.  We offer the traditional, instructor-led version.

The Instructor Led Only version of the course takes place in a traditional classroom and range environment. Course topics include: gun safety rules, proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, ammunition knowledge and selection, pistol selection and storage, shooting fundamentals, pistol inspection and maintenance, marksmanship, and shooting range safety. Additionally, students will complete live fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification while on the range with an NRA Certified Instructor. Students will receive the NRA Guide: Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, take a Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination and receive a course completion certificate bearing the signature of the NRA Secretary and your NRA Certified Instructor.

THE COST OF THE CLASS IS $200.00 PER STUDENT.  A DEPOSIT OF $100.00 IS REQUIRED.  ALL DEPOSITS AND PAYMENTS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.  STUDENTS MAY APPLY THE DEPOSITS AND PAYMENTS TO ANOTHER CLASS WITHIN 12 MONTHS IF IT IS NECESSARY TO CANCEL.

The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting-Instructor Led, is intended for all individuals regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA-affiliation. With the traditional, instructor-led course  you will receive direct instruction from an NRA-certified instructor from beginning to end.

Course topics include:

  • gun safety rules

  •  proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols

  • ammunition knowledge and selection

  • pistol selection and storage

  • shooting fundamentals

  • pistol inspection and maintenance

  • marksmanship

  • Shooting range safety​
     

NOTE-ABSOLUTELY NO LIVE AMMUNITION IS ALLOWED IN THE CLASSROOM

ALL Students MUST already have a New York State Pistol License in order to be eligible to attend the course. 

 

 ALL STUDENTS MUST PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING AND BRING THE FOLLOWING WITH THEM TO CLASS:

  • VALID NEW YORK STATE ISSUED ID (E.G. DRIVERS LICENSE)

  • VALID NEW YORK STATE PISTOL PERMIT

  • EYE PROTECTION-SUITABLE FOR THE RANGE

  • EAR PROTECTION-SUITABLE FOR THE RANGE

  • FIREARM OF YOUR CHOICE (SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL OR REVOLVER) IN GOOD WORKING CONDITION

  • 200 ROUNDS OF FACTORY TARGET AMMUNITION-ONLY ON THE DAY ASSIGNED FOR LIVE FIRE SHOOTING

 

 (IF YOU DO NOT OWN A FIREARM, ONE WILL BE PROVIDED DURING THE CLASS)

 

COFFEE, WATER AND SNACKS WILL BE PROVIDED.

ALL STUDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO BRING A LIGHT LUNCH, SNACK OR BEVERAGE WITH THEM.
